WACF supports agencies that provide Independent Living Services across the State of Washington.
These services are designed to assist youth and young adults ages 15 - 23 in making the transition from foster care to self-sufficiency. According to the Foster Care Independence Act of 1999 (Public Law 106-169), the IL program is voluntary for youth and young adults and the program offers educational support, employment preparation, financial assistance, and life skills training.
